Vision & Mission Statement – "Our vision is to be a Church with a passion for the Lord, reaching the lost, preaching the Gospel to every person and making disciples of all nations; teaching believers to be faithful leaders, and mentoring members for service to the Lord. Our vision will be facilitated as we commit to being a Church of the WORD, Holy Ghost and Prayer. John 6:63.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

First, the Great Commission: "18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20).

Second, the Great Commandment: "37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments" (Matthew 22:37-40).

In RHEMA’S vision, "Multi-ethnic, Multi-generational, Mission-shaped community" is from the Great Commission and "Love God completely (Upward), Love ourselves correctly (Inward), and our neighbors compassionately (Outward)" is from the Great Commandment.

The Mission of RHEMA is to be a committed body of believers encouraged to know Christ in MEMBERSHIP, grow in Christ toward MATURITY, serve Christ in MINISTRY, and share Christ in MISSION.

Core Value Evangelism - It is the presentation of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit with the view that people will trust Jesus as Savior and Lord and serve Him in the fellowship of the Church. Evangelism is the responsibility of every Church member and Minister. It is the prime duty of every believer to share his/her faith after conversion. Through cross-cultural, mission-oriented evangelism, RHEMA members who travel to other countries preach Christ, plant Fellowships and call for Ministers to pastor same.

Discipleship - Discipleship is teaching and training believers to be like Christ in character and to make responsible choices. The emphasis is on holiness, righteousness, faithfulness, honesty, sincerity, humility, prayerfulness and the leading of disciplined and responsible lives. This is done at the level of individuals, where mature members take up the responsibility to disciple new converts. RHEMA plays a leading role by providing systematic teaching and practical training.

Ministry Excellence- We seek to honor God who gave His best (Christ Jesus as theSavior) by maintaining a high standard of excellence in all our ministries and activities (Col. 3:23-24).

Prayer - Some of the normal practices are regular prayer for the Holy Spirit baptism with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues. Emphasis is placed on the fruit and gifts of the Spirit in the life of the believer.

Prayers are made for healing and deliverance of the afflicted as part of the initial exercises for salvation.

RHEMA’S services are marked as truly Pentecostal with praise and worship, teaching, exercise of gifts, prayer, testimonies, etc.

Ministry of the Holy Spirit - We believe in the presence of the person of the Holy Spirit and that the Christian life can be led only by His enablement. The new birth is the work of the Holy Spirit, and then the baptism of the Holy Spirit for power to serve and the gifts of the Spirit for building the body of Christ. The Holy Spirit helps the individual to develop a Christ-like character, manifested through bearing the fruit of the Spirit. The leading of the Holy Spirit in all spheres of activity in the Church is paramount.

Administrative structures and all other Church distinctiveness have been largely influenced by the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Leadership - Leadership development is based on the Apostolic Foundation. Appointments and callings into leadership positions are based on character, charisma, and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Social Activities - RHEMA believes in communal living with members supporting one another, and participating in communal work. RHEMA may also help the wider community by providing social needs such as health services, education, as well as donating to the needy in society.

Holiness of members and officers - RHEMA upholds holiness of members unto the Lord in all their endeavors (Rom. 12:1; Heb. 12:14).

Consistent Bible Teaching – (Acts 2:42a) - RHEMA upholds the teaching of sound biblical doctrine and does not tolerate the propagation of wrong/false doctrine.

“ORDINANCIES”

Holy Communion – Believers commemorate Christ’s Last Supper here on Earth. The Bread and Wine are symbolic representation of the Body and Blood of Jesus, offered in sacrifice for sins of the World. John 6:53-59; II Cor. 11:23-26

Water Baptism – Believers take part in Water Baptism by complete immersion. This is a public showing of one’s acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Acts 2:38; Col. 2:12

BASIC TENETS OF FAITH & STATEMENT OF FUNDAMENTAL TRUTHS

The Tenets of Faith of RHEMA shall be as follows:

The Scriptures — The Bible is the inspired Word of God, the product of holy men of old who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. The New Covenant, as recorded in the New Testament, we accept as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine (2 Tim. 3:16; 1 Thess. 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21).

The Godhead — Our God is one, but manifested in three persons — the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, being co-equal (Phil. 2:6). God the Father is greater than all; the Sender of the Word (Logos) and the Begetter (John 14:28; John 16:28; John 1:14). The Son is the Word flesh-covered, the One Begotten, and has existed with the Father from the beginning (John 1:1; John 1:1 8; John 1:14). The Holy Spirit proceeds forth from both the Father and the Son and is eternal (John 15:26).

Man, His Fall and Redemption — Man is a created being, made in the likeness and image of God, but through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world. “All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” “As it is written, There is none righteous no, not one.” Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was manifested to undo the work of the devil and gave His life and shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God (Rom. 5:14; Rom. 3:10; Rom. 3:23; 1 John 3:8).

Salvation is the gift of God to man, separate from works and the law, and is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works acceptable to God (Eph. 2:8).

Eternal Life and the New Birth — Man’s first step toward salvation is godly sorrow that worketh repentance. The New Birth is necessary to all men, and when experienced produces eternal life (2 Cor. 7:10; I John 5:12; John 3:3-5).

Water Baptism — Baptism in water is by immersion, is a direct commandment of our Lord, and is for believers only. The ordinance is a symbol of the Christianʼs identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection (Matt. 28:19; Rom. 6:4; Col. 2:12; Acts 8:36-39).

The following recommendation regarding the water baptismal formula is adopted; to wit: “On the confession of your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and by His authority, I baptize you in the Name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen.”

Baptism in the Holy Ghost — The Baptism in the Holy Ghost and fire is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to all believers in this dispensation and is received subsequent to the New Birth. This experience is accompanied by the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance (Matt. - 5 – 3:11; John 14:16,17; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:38,39; Acts 19:1-7; Acts 2:4).

Sanctification — The Bible teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord. We believe in the Doctrine of Sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of regeneration and continuing until the consummation of salvation at Christ’s return (Heb. 12:14; 1Thess. 5:23; 2 Peter 3:18; 2 Cor. 3:18; Phil. 3:12-14; 1 Cor. 1:30).

Divine Healing — Healing is for the physical ills of the human body and is wrought by the power of God through the prayer of faith, and by the laying on of hands. It is provided for in the atonement of Christ, and is the privilege of every member of the Church today (Mark 16:18; James 5:14-15; 1 Peter 2:24; Matt. 8:17; Isa. 53:4,5).

Resurrection of the Just and the Return of Our Lord — The angels said to Jesusʼ disciples, “. . . this same Jesus . . . shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” His coming is imminent. When He comes, “. . . the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air . . .” (Acts 1:11; 1 Thess. 4:16,17).

Following the Tribulation, He shall return to earth as King of kings, and Lord of lords, and together with His saints, who shall be kings and priests, He shall reign a thousand years (Rev. 20:6).

Hell and Eternal Retribution — The one who physically dies in his sins without accepting Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the Lake of Fire and, therefore, has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or repenting. The Lake of Fire is literal. The terms “eternal” and “everlasting,” used in describing the duration of the punishment of the damned in the Lake of Fire, carry the same thought and meaning of endless existence as used in denoting the duration of joy and ecstasy of saints in the presence of God (Heb. 9:27; Rev. 19:20).

Biblical Marriage: RHEMA Pentecostal Church (RPC) shall only conduct Holy Matrimony (Marriage) between “one biological man and one biological woman” – Gen. 2:22-24; Mk. 10:6-9; I Cor. 7:1-16; Col. 3:18-19; Heb. 13:4-7. RHEMA Pentecostal Church (RPC) stands against same sex marriage, and will not permit such devilish practice! Lev. 18:22; 20:13; I Cor. 6:9-11; Rom. 1:26-28; I Tim. 1:10.
